Well, we’re here to teach you why that’s not the smartest idea, and share some tips on how to clean a TV screen safely and efficiently. Plus, we’ll also share some tips on how to prevent stains from appearing in the first place.

Let’s get started!

How to clean a TV screen

Cleaning a TV screen successfully doesn’t have to be rocket science. In fact, it’s pretty easy to do. The best way to clean a TV screen is with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. If you need to remove a smudge or spot, use a slightly dampened microfiber cloth. Avoid using any cleaning solutions or harsh chemicals on your TV screen as they could damage it.

To clean the TV screen is simple, and can be done in just a few steps:

  1. First, turn off your TV.
  2. Next, using a microfiber cloth, gently wipe the screen in a circular motion. If there are any tough stains, you can use a gentle household cleaner. Be sure to avoid any cleaners that contain ammonia, as this can damage the screen.
  3. Once you’re finished cleaning, turn your TV back on and enjoy your clean screen!

Removing stubborn spots or fingerprints from the TV

Of course, sometimes your screen can be extra dirty and may require a little more elbow grease to get it clean. If you’re having trouble removing tough spots or fingerprints, try using a mixture of vinegar and water. Simply mix equal parts vinegar and water in a bowl, and then use a microfiber cloth to wipe down the screen. The vinegar will help to break down any stubborn dirt or grime, making it easier to wipe away. Once you’re finished, be sure to rinse the screen with a clean cloth and water to remove any residue.

If you’d prefer to not have the smell of vinegar in your home, you can also use a mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water. Simply mix 1:2 parts alcohol and water in a bowl, and then follow the same instructions as above. The alcohol will help to break down dirt and grime, making it easier to wipe away. Just be sure to avoid using any kind of ethyl alcohol or any other kinds, as these products can actually damage your TV screen instead of clean it.

Don’t forget to clean your remote!

remote control

While cleaning your TV screen, you’re probably focused on things like getting rid of dirt, dust, and fingerprints, and not leaving behind any streaks. But don’t forget about your remote control! It’s just as important to keep this little device clean, since it’s constantly being handled. In fact, your TV remote is home to more germs than you think – it’s actually one of the dirtiest things in your home!

According to a study done by the Times of India, when researching the presence of yeast and bacteria, researchers found “290 colony-forming units per 2 centimeters” on the remote control, as opposed to only “12.4 colony-forming units per 2 centimeters” detected on the toilet seat – This means that your TV remote is actually 24 times dirtier than your toilet! As you can see, cleaning the TV remote is an essential part of cleaning your TV screen, and not cleaning it regularly can make you and your household very sick.

How to clean your remote

To clean your remote, simply remove the batteries and then use a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol to wipe down all of the surfaces. Be sure to avoid any of the electrical parts, and only focus on the outside surfaces. Once you’re finished, let the remote air dry completely before putting the batteries back in and using it again.

You should also take this opportunity to clean your TV’s remote control receiver. This is the box that sits on top of or near your TV, and it’s where your remote communicates with the TV. Just like your remote, the receiver can get pretty dirty and germ-ridden over time. To clean it, simply use a can of compressed air to blow away any dirt, dust, or debris that may be clogging up the receiver. You can also use a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol to wipe down the surface.

How to prevent stains on your TV screen

With regular cleaning, you can keep your TV screen looking like new for years to come! Try to clean it at least once a week, or more often if needed. If you have small children or pets in the home, you may need to clean it more frequently, as they can be extra messy. Making cleaning the TV screen a part of your regular house cleaning checklist is the best way to keep your TV screen clean and prevent buildup of dust, dirt and grime.

Invest in a screen protector

One of the best ways to keep your TV clean is to prevent dirt and fingerprints in the first place. You can do this by using a TV screen protector over the top of your TV screen. This is a clear, thin sheet of plastic that sticks to your screen and helps to repel fingerprints and dirt. Simply apply the protector to your screen, and then enjoy your clean TV!

A TV screen protector is a great investment, and it can really help to keep your TV clean. If you’re not sure how to apply it, or if you want to see how it looks first, you can always buy a cheap one online or at your local electronics store.

You can look, but don’t touch!

Another way to keep your TV clean is to be careful with what you touch. Avoid touching the screen with your hands, as this can leave behind fingerprints and smudges. Instead, use a clean cloth or microfiber cloth to wipe down the screen. If you must touch the screen, be sure to wash your hands first!

Avoid food and drink near the TV

You should also avoid eating or drinking near your TV, as this can lead to spills and stains. If you do spill something on your TV, be sure to clean it up immediately. Use a clean, dry cloth to blot away any liquid, and then follow the cleaning instructions above.

Dust the speakers and clean the TV frame

Cleaning your TV screen is important, but don’t forget about the rest of your TV! The stand, frame, and other parts of your TV can get just as dirty as the screen. Be sure to dust these parts regularly, using a soft cloth or microfiber cloth. You can also use a vacuum with a soft brush attachment to gently remove any dirt or dust.

When cleaning the frame and stand of your TV, be careful not to scratch or damage the surface. Avoid using any harsh chemicals or cleaners, as these can damage the finish. If you’re not sure how to clean something, always err on the side of caution and contact a professional for cleaning help.
