Bringing back the shine of products, tiles, fittings and more can often be a time-consuming job and it can almost feel impossible if you don’t know the right methods. Effectives techniques and easy DIY methods:

Whether you are looking to clean heavily corroded items and/or units or simply restore shine to an accessory, there are many effective methods that can help you achieve your goals. Roisin’s hacks include:

Washing up liquid:

The newest trick I have discovered is to clean with washing up liquid, it really brings up the bath and the shower unit and the actual chrome bit. You will be surprised at how sparkly and shiny this leaves the surface.”

White Vinegar:

“White vinegar is a bit of a wonder product as it works for mild and heavy-duty cleaning. For example, simply mix some white vinegar with warm water and apply the mixture to the brass item using a soft, damp cloth. Gently wipe away any dirt or grime and allow the vinegar solution to sit on the brass for about 10 minutes.”

Lemon and baking soda:

Another household ingredient you can use to bring out the shine is to mix together lemon juice and baking soda. Use a soft cloth or sponge to gently rub this mixture onto the surfaces. This combination works to break down dirt and grime, while also restoring shine and luster. By choosing the right cleaning product, combining household ingredients like lemon juice and baking soda, or opting for a commercial product, you can easily restore shine and vibrancy to all of your beautiful brass pieces!”

Flour and water:

Use a mixture of flour and salt to deal with minor stains or heavy corrosion. One option is to mix together equal parts of flour and salt, and then apply this mixture directly to the surfaces using a soft cloth or sponge. Let the mixture sit on the surface for a few minutes, and then use a damp cloth to remove any excess residue.”

By choosing the right cleaning product, combining household ingredients like lemon juice and baking soda, or opting for a commercial product, you can easily restore shine and vibrancy to your beautiful home!
