The benefits of using a drawer organiser?

Using a drawer organiser offers numerous benefits. It maximises workspace, keeps items easily accessible, and reduces clutter. An organised drawer also saves time spent searching for items and maintains the condition of stored items by reducing overcrowding and damage.

How can you quickly declutter your drawers?

Whichever drawer you choose to sort out whether it be decluttering your office or your bedside table, start by emptying your drawer and sorting items into categories: keep, donate, recycle, and trash

This process not only helps in decluttering but also in deciding what needs to go back into the drawer. Remember, the less clutter, the easier it is to organise.

What is the best way to clean a drawer?

After decluttering, clean the drawer before reorganising. A quick vacuum can remove dust and crumbs, followed by a wipe-down with a damp cloth. For a deeper clean, consider using a mild cleaning agent or disinfectant, especially for drawers used to store kitchen or bathroom items.

The basic steps to organising any drawer

  • Empty the Drawer: Begin by taking everything out of the drawer. This will give you a clear view of the space you have to work with and the items that need organising.
  • Sort the Contents: Group the contents into categories. This might include items like utensils, clothing, or stationery, depending on the drawer's location.
  • Decide What to Keep: Identify items that you plan to keep, relocate, or discard. This step helps reduce clutter and ensures that only necessary items return to the drawer.
  • Use Organisers or Dividers: Acquire suitable organisers or dividers for the drawer. These can be store-bought or DIY solutions, like plywood dividers, small bins, or containers.
  • Organise and Return Items: Finally, put everything back in the drawer according to your new organisation plan. Group similar items together and use dividers or containers to keep things tidy.

How should items be grouped in a drawer?
Grouping like items together is a cornerstone of effective drawer organisation. For example, keep all socks or undergarments together in one section of a drawer. Use drawer dividers or small bins to create distinct sections for different categories of items.

Are there any folding techniques to save space in drawers?
Yes, space-saving folding techniques like the Marie Kondo method can be very effective. Rolling t-shirts or standing them up in a filing manner are great ways to maximise space and keep everything visible at a glance.

How can you maintain an organised drawer?
Maintaining an organised drawer requires regular upkeep. Periodically re-evaluate what’s stored and ensure everything is in its place. Encourage family members to follow the organisation system and make adjustments as needed to keep the drawer functional and tidy.

Cleaning: Classic one-off cleaning, Cleaning products

I booked 2 hours time because wecasa recommended 2 hours for cleaning a studio flat and 1 only had 2 rooms to clean, kitchen and washroom...during the 2 hours only 1 kitchen was cleaned and the washroom is still dirty. The work precious done was good but i dont know if its her fault or wecasas fault but my house is still unclean and my purpose is not served. She said i needed to book more time as my rooms were unclean but i think 2 hours is sufficient for 2 rooms however unclean(these are small rooms)
